T-SCAN OCCLUSAL ANALYSIS
T-Scan Occlusal Analysis System
What is a T-Scan?
A T-Scan is a digital assessment tool that analyzes the contact between your teeth. It measures and identifies the location, force and timing in which the teeth are in contact. Such parameters are essential for measuring occlusion and enabling appropriate treatment plans for patients.
How does T- Scan Work?
In a mouth shaped apparatus, the sensor detects the force, location, and timing of the occlusion when a patient bites into the piece. The handpiece records, scans, and transfers the data from the sensor to the user interface in the software system. The software system processes the information and allows dental practitioners to analyze and treat concerns that is shown.
Benefits of T-Scan
Along with measuring accurate occlusion parameters, T-Scan has numerous benefits for both the dental practitioners and patients:
With more accurate and precise results, it broadens treatment options and capabilities
It is a great educational tool as it provides visual representations for patients to learn and conceptualize their occlusions
Using T-Scan can lower costs and time by reducing repeated visits
What can T-Scan be Used For?
Dental implants can be a concern when impacted by full bite force. With T-Scan’s ability to measure timing and related forces, dentist can determine the pressures placed on implants and make adjustments to avoid damage. Learn more by visiting our Dental Implants page.
T-Scan’s bite force data can provide information on dental adjustments needed and on high forces that threatens the longevity of the natural teeth. Learn more by visiting our Cosmetic Dentistry page.
When fitting for dentures, it is important to understand a patient’s occlusion force to get the right fit. T-Scan can be used to evaluate occlusal force to provide effective outcomes.
Initial Comprehension Exam
T-Scan can be used as a screening tool to evaluate and identify potential occlusal problems. By identifying problems early, treatments can be given to prevent further damage. Additionally, the 2D and 3D representation data provided can be shown to patients to further educate on their dental health and increase confidence in their treatment plans.
Dental Crowns and Bridges
Crowns and bridges can be tricky to insert and fit, therefore it requires precision and skill to ensure a functional and comfortable bite. T-Scan helps dentist to analyze occlusion forces by providing bite force data when undergoing restoration practices. Learn more by visiting our Dental Crowns and Dental Bridges pages.
