MEET THE DOCTORS
Dr. Christine Fialka-Eshenko has been practicing dentistry in Edmonton for over thirty years. “In the last three decades, dental materials and clinical techniques have been constantly changing and advancing…” I have made it a priority and am committed to continuing education so that we can provide our patients with the best dentistry has to offer. “The dental team has accompanied Dr. Fialka-Eshenko to these courses, so they are able to work together to provide patients with great smiles and excellent oral health. “We all go above and beyond the basics and are dedicated to treating each of our patients just as we would like to be treated.”
They have incorporated new technology into the practice when it gives rise to an improvement in patient care. The addition of 3-D Cad-Cam dentistry (CEREC) has provide her with greater quality control and patients can often have what would have been a multi-visit procedure done in a single visit i.e. crowns. She has incorporated the laser for non-surgical treatment of periodontal or gum disease. She has incorporated TENS for patient comfort and some very technical jaw tracking hardware and software to help her with advanced jaw issues and trauma cases.
We continue to incorporate the latest advances in Dental Technology & this year we are using the Tek Scan which is a digital way to analyze the timing and the intensity of the bite.
She strongly believes that each patient should take an active role in their own care and thus spend a great deal of time getting to know each patient and working with them individually in order to reach the patients desired outcome. This is exhibited by a quote about her personal treatment philosophy.
“Our philosophy is simple: we listen carefully to our patients, and we encourage patient participation in the treatment and planning process. We provide each patient treatment options that include the most current solutions dentistry has to offer, and we then let them choose what they feel works best for them. We pride ourselves on doing a comprehensive examination.”
Commitment to Excellence
Dr. Fialka-Eshenko deeply believes in giving back to the community in which you live, both professionally and personally. She also believes it is both an honor and a privilege to serve the residents of Edmonton and the surrounding areas by providing comprehensive dental care and treatment. “We do everything in our power to put nervous patients at ease and we assure all of our patients that we will create a treatment plan that suits their specific needs.
Dr Fialka-Eshenko continually gives back to the profession and has served on numerous committees. She was invited to be an Examiner with the National Dental Examining Board of Canada and has done so for a number of years. Being chosen by her colleagues to help determine who can qualify to be a dentist in Canada is quite an honour for her.

Dr. Kim Boldt
Dr. Boldt's "Why"
Two main reasons why Dr. Kim Boldt became a dentist in the first place are:
When she was a child, she had less-than-fun experiences with the dental therapists who worked out of my elementary school in Saskatchewan, and thought she could provide a better experience.
When she was in high school she admired her dentist who used her vacation time to go overseas and do free dental work for underprivileged people.
She has been on two dental mission trips (to Honduras and Sri Lanka) and continue to strive to be empathetic and enthusiastic with all patients, especially children.
How becoming a dentist improved her own health:
She was unaware that it is not normal nor healthy for gums to bleed, so she started flossing daily, taking food supplements, and breathing through her nose.
In addition to causing dried-out lips and bleeding gums, her lifelong chronic mouth-breathing had led to recurrent colds and ear infections, snoring, itchy hands, and the inability to run for long, or to swim underwater.
Once she started using dental trainers and expansion appliances to widen her own smile and airway, she could finally breathe though her nose and her quality of life improved greatly. Now she LOVES running, singing, the ocean and watching her nose-breathing daughters dance!
Living and practicing in Summerside is a dream come true. She’s delighted to chat with you at the school, grocery store, beach club or anywhere in our growing community!
