How Should I Maintain My Porcelain Veneers?
General Dentist and Cosmetic Dental Services in Edmonton, Alberta

Porcelain veneers are exceptionally durable; they can last up to a decade. This is one reason they are so popular with our Edmonton-area patients. However, this durability cannot just be assumed. You must play an active role in maintaining your porcelain veneers if they are to give you all the service they can.Fortunately, maintaining your porcelain veneers is largely a matter of practicing sound dental hygiene and doing everything you normally would. This means:
- Brushing your teeth at least twice a day
- Flossing regularly
- Seeing our general dentist at least once every six months for a routine cleaning and examination
Finally, it’s important that you avoid grinding or clenching your teeth. This grinding and clenching can put tremendous pressure on porcelain veneers, and over an extended period of time can cause your veneers to crack.
At Focus on Smiles, we offer only the highest quality dental work, and Dr. Christine Fialka-Eshenko has decades of experience placing this work. When it comes to porcelain veneers, we know how to keep our Edmonton patients happy and satisfied with their new smile.
We’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have about maintaining your veneers.
