What is a Full Mouth Restoration?
Also known as a full mouth reconstruction, a full mouth restoration is when a series of cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry procedures are performed in order to provide a patient with a fully functional, beautiful, and natural-looking smile. Typically, a full mouth restoration is performed on individuals suffering from extremely worn and damaged teeth, decayed or missing teeth, and/or a misaligned bite.
Am I a candidate for a Full Mouth Reconstruction?
You may be a candidate for a full mouth reconstruction if you suffer from two or more of the following symptoms:
- Chronic headaches or migraines
- Loose or shifting teeth
- Painful teeth
- Temporomandibular joint disorder
- Pain in the face, neck, shoulder or back regions
- Sore jaw joints
- Congested ears
- Restricted jaw movement
- Worn, chipped or cracked teeth
What does a Full Mouth Restoration entail?
All full mouth restorations are performed in steps and combined with checks and balances to make certain that you achieve the smile you have dreamed of while eliminating any pain due to neuromuscular disorders.
Through a TENS unit and other advances in neuromuscular dentistry, we determine your jaw’s optimal position. Using temporomandibular joint disorder treatments, we will work to and hopefully eliminate the chronic pain you may be experiencing. After, through the artistry of cosmetic dentistry we will enhance the beauty of your smile by ridding it of undesirable aesthetics.
What procedures are involved in a Full Mouth Reconstruction?
Full mouth reconstruction procedures may include:
- Treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
- Placement of dental crowns to cap your teeth, which will strengthen damaged and cracked teeth
- Applying porcelain veneers to brighten your smile and eliminate cracked, chipped or gapped teeth
